Plunket Turns 111!

Plunket turns 111 on Monday 14 May 2018 - Happy Birthday Plunket!

Plunket has turned 111 today and we are so happy that Plunket has managed to make the difference of a lifetime during these years - and will continue to do so!
Plunket was founded in 1907 in Dunedin by child health visionary, Sir Frederic Truby King. Plunket nurses quickly became a vital line of support for mothers and babies throughout New Zealand – and over a century later, Plunket is still here for families with young children.

Plunket by the numbers:

  • 9 out of 10 Kiwi babies are Plunket babies!
  • 1922: the first Plunket book was published
  • Over 110,000 calls every year are made from parents to PlunketLine
  • More than 600 clinical staff, 1,000 community services staff and thousands of volunteers represent and carry out Plunket’s good work
