Plunket turns 111 on Monday 14 May 2018 Happy Birthday Plunket

Plunket has turned 111 today and we are so happy that Plunket has managed to make the difference of a lifetime during these years and will continue to do so Plunket was founded in 1907 in Dunedin by child health visionary Sir Frederic Truby King Plunket nurses quickly became a vital line of support for mothers and babies throughout New Zealand and over a century later Plunket is still here for families with young children

Plunket by the numbers

  • 9 out of 10 Kiwi babies are Plunket babies
  • 1922 the first Plunket book was published
  • Over 110000 calls every year are made from parents to PlunketLine
  • More than 600 clinical staff 1000 community services staff and thousands of volunteers represent and carry out Plunkets good work
